Hi — I read your comments — I’m seriously thinking about going there for the experience — my short was accepted and was told that only a portion of the films submitted get accepted because the submissions are in the thousands. I added the Cannes logo to my short. Please contact me and let me know — although I’m a UCLA Grad student in film, I’m not in my twenties. Hi – thanks for your message. Well done on getting your short accepted – you should definitely go! It’s an opportunity to meet short film buyers and distributors and show them your film. Pretty much THE ENTIRE FILM INDUSTRY is there for that week. I went into the festival viewing it as nothing more than a chance to figure out how the business side of the festival circuit works and came away with some great contacts and distribution for my short. There’s lots of competition so it can be hard to get your film noticed, but if you go armed with a bunch of posters and flyers, you’ll drum up some interest.
